radio in for back up

Nicole's pa flew in from Illinois last Thursday to stay with us for a spell. Nicole's been steadily improving, we're very encouraged. In addition it's been most, most helpful to have an additional handler to keep an eye on her. Sometimes it's more helpful to have your dad tell you, "Hey, relax," than to have John tell you, "Uh...why don't you...relax..?"
I wish my reasoning abilities were doing as well as Nicole. Her pa brought, not one, but two pairs of his cowboy boots. On Saturday he mentioned that he was also in the market for a pair of sturdy, knee high work boots. We looked around on the internet but didn't have much luck. Then I had a bright idea. Doc Martens were originally manufactured as work boots before they became fashionable. The steel toed variety are certainly still available.
I called around and finally found a place called "Posers" on Melrose that had knee high Doc Martens. We drove out there and found the shoe department upstairs. Lots of boots featuring skulls, faces of rock stars, platform heels. It was run by a cynical Scandinavian dude. Nicole's pa quickly determined that knee high Doc Martens was not what he had in mind, steel toes or no.
However, the next day we went to Boot Barn and amidst all of their no nonsense western and work boots he still couldn't find what he was looking for. He's just very particular.
