Blindness

Someone on Nicole's drug withdrawal internet forum recommended the 1991 Jim Jarmusch movie "Night on Earth", so we watched it last night. I seen it when it come out; I probably enjoyed it more last night because I was expecting less. Roberto Benigni, in the Roma sequence, where he drives the priest in his taxi and confesses his increasingly mortal sins to him, is still unstoppable and stands the test of time. What I forgot was how entertaining it is to watch Beatrice Dalle as the blind woman in the Parisian taxi. All blind women should put on their lipstick and fuss with their hair like Beatrice Dalle. Sighted women too. She had a mesmerizing, Stevie Wonder manner of rolling her head around. Beatrice Dalle needs more roles like this. In the 2001 movie "Trouble Every Day" she played a cannibal.
